Spies. Soldiers. Survivors.
During World War Two, a German spy is sent to infiltrate a top secret military installation in the highlands of Scotland. However, forces are at work which threaten not only the outcome of the war, but also the future of man kind. Made with no budget and no funding, "The Unwelcome Ones" is a passion project of Douglas Kyle, his brother Andrew and close friend Mark Bell. Filmed on location in the highlands of Scotland, the film combines a grim, war atmosphere with an uneasy horror sci fi threat
Being an avid fan of History (his favourite subject at school) and lover of War Films such as "Where Eagles Dare," "The Eagle Has Landed" and "The Longest Day," Doug was keen to make and produce a thriller using this era, with a Chaos Box unique twist on the genre. Made in the space of a week using Andrew's home as the base, "The Unwelcome Ones" was quite a challenging production - mainly because of the midges! In some of the shots, you can see the cast being eaten alive! The "Monsters" were meant to be very simplistic in design and originally didn't feature the standout "red eye," this was a very late addition. Quite a ambitious production from the start, we are very of this one and its fully available to watch on YouTube now!
