THE PANDORA MEN Scottish No Budget Sci Fi Adventure

Since 2015, Chaos Box have produced The Pandora Men, a Sci Fi Adventure series available to watch on YouTube, which has over 100 episodes spread over several seasons.

Created, written and directed by Douglas Kyle  - the shows stars Jim Currie, Josh Currie, Jane Fullerton, Ashley Sabiston, Stuart Campbell, Marie Ashman, Myla Corvidae, Niall MacKay, Douglas Kyle and his older brother Andrew Kyle, as well as several guest cameos. None of whom are professionally trained actors.

Plots revolve around whatever crazy ideas the cast and crew come up with - nothing is too far fetched. We've had shape shifting monsters, killer Winnie The Pooh, Self-Aware Mirror Reflections, haunted playgrounds and so much more.

Made with love, passion and creativity.

Filmed on a weekly basis, some episodes being entirely made up the day before filming, and use a blend of Camera Techniques and visual effects.

It has featured in the local media and uses a lot of famous Orkney and Aberdeenshire Landscapes and building / businesses.

The Pandora Men - a quick show reel of what we do.

Episode 1

Wildlife Protection Officer Michael Denton travels to the Islands of Orkney, North of Scotland and becomes unwillingly involved with the mysterious Samuel Brooks - a man who is conducting experiments and research into the unnatural and absurd. However both men are hiding secrets which defy reality as we know it.  Made with no budget and in their spare time, Pandora Men is an original, Scottish / Orkney based Sci Fi Drama purely made to showcase the talents of local artists, filmmakers and musicians.

Restart Reality Season

Following a afterhours tour of the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, a group become trapped inside in a pocket of Stagnant Time. Everything is frozen: the doors won't open, the glass won't break and soon the oxygen will run out. As time counts down, and with the help of the mysterious Nathan Darrow; Dorris, Barry, Wendy and Callum must escape from Frozen Time before it's too late, while also being pursued by a Demonic Diver.  The Pandora Men is a Scottish No-Budget, No-Limit SciFi Amateur Production made in the Cast & Crews spare time. It is a creative melting pot of ideas, with stories, characters, camera angles, monsters etc all suggested by people involved. Inspired by all things geeky, it has been described by a local newspaper as a "Doctor Who meets The X-Files" with some Star Trek and Star Wars thrown in. Filmed in and around Aberdeen City and beyond, including stories about local legends, folklore and myths.

Isolation

A series of episodes made during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The 100th Episode

In this special Episode celebrating the 100th Episode of the show, we are transported back to the 1800s, in the midst of a bitter conflict in Africa...  There was much debate about what the 100th Episode should be, but it was decided that this episode best represented the very heart and purpose of the show. Random, no limits, silly, Sci Fi and really cool! The idea had been floating in Douglas's head since he first saw the film Zulu (one of his all time favorites) and so the production of this was one of his greatest Pandora moment. Full of homages, this episode was filmed in May in 8 hours with only Douglas & Andrew on set.
